In order to impart higher education in the tribal area of Dharni and Chikhaldara, in the Melghat region. Under the precious guidance of the peoples leader and former state minister honourable Ramu Mhating Patel honourable Nana Saheb Bhise, Late Shivpoojan Guruji and honourable Babulal Patel had Laid down the foundation stone of Dayaram Patel Smarak Trust in 1972, in memory of honourable Dayaram Patel. Under the title of special case former Chief Minister and our honourable leader late Vasantrao Naik had given permission and donated 25,000/- rupees to start Higher Education Institute in Melghat.

Similarly Late Kisan Das Ji Patel, Kalamkhar donated 25,000/- rupees and Zilha Parishad Amravati also donated 50,000/- rupees for the establishment of Institute. The Inauguration of ceremony of college took place on 14th July 1974 in the auspicious presence of contemporonous education minister late Prabhatai Rao in this enterprise the trust will be indebted to the helping hands of honourable Mene Saheb former vice chancellor Nagpur University and hounarable Dadasaheb Kalmegh former vice chancellor Nagpur University Nagpur. 

Ramrao ji Aadik, Former finance and urban development minister had Visited our institute in 1981 and donated 50,000/- rupees from Chief Ministers fund. Similarly, some well-wishers also contributed for the development of institute. institute migrated in the new building on 15th January 1999 at kusumkoat bujurg, dharni. Our institute has been flurishing  with broad vision of honourable Nana Saheb Bhise.
